I am originally from New Mexico and I moved to Alpine, Wyoming seven years ago. My life has two dominant players that drive me, science and snow. I have a background in biochemistry/microbiology, but I have been out of the industry for a few years to prioritize my mental health. However, I am starting a business in fermented foods in my spare time in order to blend my passion of microbiology and support mental health.
I work several seasonal jobs that keep me active and outside. In the summer I am a raft guide, a gardener and a wake surf instructor. In the winter I teach snowboarding and do holiday decorating. It’s a strange balance but it works because of Jackson being the unique place that it is.
I have been a snowboarder most of my life and never thought anything would be more fun than that, then along came my snowmobile. The pursuit of snow is what influenced me to move here; I wanted longer winters and deeper snow and I sure found it. Almost two years ago I married my best friend and am currently trying to start a family. Until then our two dogs and kitty get all of our love and affection.
My name is Mickey Russell I was born in Wisconsin and moved to Bozeman MT 27 years ago. I have had a obsession with the mountains since day one! I enjoy all things outdoors such as hiking, mountain bike riding, golfing, backpacking and camping (camper style), cross country skiing, snow shoeing and a new found love for snowmobiling! This will be my 4th year riding.
I am married for over 16 years and have to kiddos of which are riding sleds themselves! My son is 10 and my daughter is 8 and they are so amazing... We also have some fur babies of which 2 dogs and 2 cats are our lot. I am on my second career as a cosmetologist of which I have been doing for over 16 years and own my own salon.
Before that I was in construction working as a plaster foreman running crews for 11 years.. loved it... I love being positive as much as possible and push myself to conquer my fears and step out of my comfort zones!
Hi there! I’m Stephanie and on most days you can find me in either Ronald, WA or McCall, ID. Originally from Spokane, WA, I moved to the greater Seattle area for school, and stayed for work. My day job in I.T. and Project Management keeps me busy most of the week, so I really look forward to weekend adventures.
I’m a mountain girl at heart, with a love for hiking, mountain biking, paddle boarding, and all things outdoors, but winter has truly become my favorite season. I started downhill skiing at Snoqualmie Pass in my early 20’s, learning to navigate the Pacific Northwest snow (affectionately referred to as “cascade concrete!”), and later reconnected with a friend (now my husband of 13 years) who got me hooked on snowboarding. Living in the mountains, we decided to pick up an old Yamaha Enticer to ride around the neighborhood. Side note - If you’ve never seen an Enticer, check out “Larry the Enticer Guy” on YouTube! It wasn’t long before we got the bright idea that we wanted a more powerful machine to access the backcountry for snowboarding. We got a couple of Ski Doo Summit sleds, and began getting acquainted with backcountry riding - joined a snowmobile club, took an Avalanche Awareness class, and bought all the gear. Needless to say we started having so much fun on the sleds, our snowboards regularly got left behind.
Through riding adventures, I have gained some amazing friendships and developed a strong network of riding partners, while learning the importance of getting involved and advocating for our sport. I enjoyed participating in snowmobile club activities to support the care and maintenance of our Sno parks, trails, and access to the backcountry, and later stepped into the role of Cascade Drift Skippers Snowmobile Club President.
My goal was to encourage the engagement and participation of all members, and promote the pursuit of avalanche education. I believe in the importance of learning to interpret the avalanche forecasts to make better terrain selection and riding decisions, as well as practicing the use of safety gear. I pursued my Companion Rescue, and Level 1 certification and later attained Level 2 certification as well, but quite honestly would like to do that one again.
In the past year I was introduced to the RevItUpGirls, and attended the ladies riding retreat. It was such a great experience learning new skills and cheering each other on, while gaining new friendships and a greater sense of confidence. I am thrilled to be able to support the RIUG in their mission, and am looking forward to meeting and riding with you ladies this season!
